7 Pagan Podcasts to Listen to While You’re Stuck at Home
I’ve only recently discovered the joy of podcasts—I know, I’m late to the ball game here, but I struggle to listen to “talking voices” without seeing people’s faces, so it’s been hard for me to get into it. However, there are a ton of really great podcasts out there, and I figured since we’re all cooped up right now with zero meatworld social interaction, it’s a good time to share some of my favorites.
These are in no particular order, but they’re worth a listen if you’ve got the time… and most of us do right now. The best thing about podcasts? You can listen to them while you do other stuff, like clean out your garage or fold the 89th load of laundry this week.
Inciting a Riot, hosted by the absolutely darling Fire Lyte, is focused on discussions of modern spirituality, celebrating diversity, and lighting a fire under comfortable thinking. Totally subversive and entertaining as hell.
Ask a Witch with Lady Brigid is one of my favorite shows to guest on, because I’ve known Lady Brigid for ages, and it’s legit like sitting down and chatting with an old friend. She has all kinds of cool topics, and new shows air three times every Friday.
Desperate Housewitches, hosted by Raina and Dorian, is a blast and a half. I’ve hung out with them at Mystic South and they’re as delightful in person as they are on their show, which is a “hodgepodge of magickal chat, drinks, spells, tarot, guests and unadulterated fun.”
3 Pagans and a Cat features “three family members embroiled in wildly divergent traditions gather in one room to discuss, debate, and flat-out argue about their magical, mythical, and mundane lives,” and it’s an absolute hoot.
The Wigglian Way has been around for a while—a dozen years or so—and has some really cool guests who talk about everything from spirituality to mythology and folklore to Pagan music.
Down at the Crossroads is hosted by Christopher Orapello and Tara Maguire, and although I don’t know them personally, I love hearing what they have to say. The show always includes really cool guests, from authors and artists to musicians and Pagan elders—I always learn something new when I listen to them, and there’s always a ton of awesome Pagan music showcased.
DruidCast is hosted by the incredibly gifted Damh the Bard, who I’ve seen perform several times—and he truly is a bard. He’s also a great host and conversationalist, and the show always features really cool poetry, stories, and songs from bards around the world. Although the podcast is backed by OBOD and primarily focuses on Druid tradition and Celtic mythology, there’s almost always something for everyone to enjoy.
Also, a bonus one that I really dig which isn’t Pagan, but history-focused because that’s my jam:
Viking Age Podcast chronicles—you guessed it— the Viking age, starting with the earliest settlement of Scandinavia, through the Bronze age, into the dawn of the period of Norse culture, spirituality, and politics.
